Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) proudly announces Jenn Morehead as its new executive director.
With 17 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Morehead will lead the statewide organization in its mission to end single parent poverty through higher education. She begins her new position on May 6.
Morehead joins ASPSF after serving as the Director of Development at Hendrix College, where she has played a pivotal role in the Office of Advancement since 2015. Notably, Morehead was a key member of the development team that raised a historic $150 million for Hendrix in the A Time to Lead capital campaign.
Morehead is the past president of the Children’s Advocacy Alliance board of directors. She previously served on the Conway Public Schools Foundation board of directors, where she was a member of the executive committee that hired the inaugural executive director for the organization. She is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
“I am confident that Jenn’s experience with strategic planning, donor relations, and leadership will successfully guide us through this transition period and poise us for continued success in the future,” said ASPSF Board President Sunshine Bartlett of Arvest Bank.
The nonprofit’s third executive director since 1990, Morehead succeeds Ruthanne Hill, who is retiring, and Ralph Nesson, who founded the organization with Marjorie Marugg-Wolfe. A search committee including ASPSF board members, staff, and donors worked with The Moran Company, a professional executive search firm, to find and select a new leader.
“ASPSF has an incredible purpose, and it is clear to see that the staff and board work hard to achieve its mission,” Morehead said. “I am excited to bring fresh perspective and knowledge to build upon its strong foundation and help grow the organization.”
A native of Northeast Arkansas, Morehead calls Conway home with her husband, Jeremy, two children, and rescue dogs. She graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in gender studies. She also holds a master’s degree in college student personnel services from Arkansas State University, where she was elected to Phi Kappa Phi.
